Ipod touch will not come on

We have tried holding the home button and power button and it will not work, the ipod has been charging all night long and we have tried several different plugs and cords. we have plugged it into a computer and also tried that way. it did com e on for a sec yesterday but has not come on since. Please help !!!!!!
