Disabling two step verification

Hi

I want to disable two step verification on my apple ID

I logged in my ID onto website and there is no edit button on top of two step verification to disable this option, what can I do to disable 2 factor verification?

I assume you mean two factor authentication (rather than two-step verification, the older method). If you've been using it for more than two weeks, you can't disable it.

Apple say:

'If you recently updated your account, you can unenroll for two weeks.

Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the link to

return to your previous security settings. Keep in mind, this makes your

account less secure and means that you can't use features that require

higher security.'

Apparently this does not apply if you bought a new device with 2FA already enabled - in that case you can't turn it off.

I'm afraid not.

Can I turn off two-factor authentication after I’ve turned it on?

If you already use two-factor authentication, you can no longer turn it

off. Certain features in the latest versions of iOS and macOS require

this extra level of security, which is designed to protect your

information. If you recently updated your account, you can unenroll for

two weeks. Just open your enrollment confirmation email and click the

link to return to your previous security settings. Keep in mind, this

makes your account less secure and means that you can't use features

that require higher security.
