Regrets I scrolled down to #7 clicked and was submerged in what seemed like an alternate malware program.
I am not certain I understand 'manual uninstall".
I had already selected Google in the preferences and in the address line in the search window.
I went to extensions and have only one = Search Manager.. Could that be the problem?

Would it had worked. Did Malware three times. Also downloaded and installed Mojavi.
Yahoo remains the default search engine.

You have adware/malware installed. Use Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for Mac. It may be necessary to run more than one scan. After scanning a couple of times, restart the computer and test. If necessary, follow the manual instructions. Do not download any other programs. Malwarebytes uninstall
