Hello! I been back and forth between the MacBook Air and IPad Pro 11inch. I basically need something new for your typical web browsing and some streaming. No photo/video editing. No need to write papers or anything of that sort. Just curious if the 8gb memory and 128gb storage is more than enough? I current have the ipad air2 with 16gb and I keep running out of room for apps. Not sure which is better for me. Thank you
On an MBA 2018 your stated needs can be supported by 8GBs of RAM, but not sure about storage. 128GBs may be enough depending upon the size of the files that you will store on the SSD. After the OS about half of the SSD will be left for storage - about 60GBs. If this is adequate then you can supplement storage using an external disk. Otherwise, you may need to step up to a 256GB SSD.
Of course these same issues apply to an iPad although iOS requires less storage space, around 7% of the memory size. The remainder of the storage space would be used by any apps that you add plus any other storage needs used by the apps you use.
