Screen does not turn on when wrist is lifted

I have an Apple Watch 3 that worked fine until a few days ago. When I lift my wrist to check the time the screen stays black. If I tap the screen lightly, it goes on. This is very annoying be amuse you need two hands for it.

I did all the basic things, like turning the feature off and on, on the phone and the watch, restarting both and had just the last upgrade installed, but still no turning on of the screen. Is my motion sensor brocken?

Oops, I did answer the wrong response. I did do this suggestion on watch and iPhone, but it did not resolve this particular problem. Unpairing and re-pairing the watch, however, did the job.

Press and hold the side button on your Apple Watch until the sliders appear, then drag Power Reserve to the right. ... On your Apple Watch, go into Settings > General > Wake Screen and toggle off..then on.. Wake Screen on Wrist Raise. You can also do this in the Apple Watch app on your iPhone via General > Wake Screen.
