Uninstall apps completely for iPhone

Is there a way of removing apps that do not uninstall completely. I have remnants of a application I removed but it still shows up in settings when I use the search function. If I download the app again my settings return as if the app was “offloaded” instead of deleted.

I am using iOS 12.2 on an iPhone X.

the app in question is the Ecobee app version 7.5.1

Any ideas?

Thank you for your reply, but if you were to re-read my original post, you will see that I was not asking that. I know how to uninstall/remove apps from iOS using Apple’s method outlined in the links you posted. It is very elementary.

I was asking if there was a way to remove the remnants of an application that has already been uninstall. Perhaps the application uninstaller or the iOS application uninstaller is not working correctly. It may be a plist file or a settings folder that remain on the phone after the app is uninstalled. This is similar to what happens on macOS. After deleting or uninstalling an app, settings files and folders for that app would remain and would have to be removed manually or via a third party app like AppCleaner.
