Can't transfer video to iPad

Hey guys, I'm trying to import video from my SD card to my iPad Mini 5 and I'm having difficulties with it. I bought the Lightning to SD card reader and when I plug it into the iPad it only shows the photos. I've seen it work for people in the past so I'm not sure what's going on here

The only other way I've found is transferring wirelessly via Sony's PlayMemories app which takes a LOOONG time

Any advice?

That should upload via the SD Adapter. See if there's anything in this support article that sheds light: Import photos using Apple camera adapters - Apple Support

You can ONLY upload a video taken on a camera to your iPad via the Apple SD adapter. Where did the video come from?

The video is from my Sony A7iii camera. It's a normal 1080p video saved in .mp4 format

I've seen past Sony users being able to do this so I know it's possible
