For some contacts my text message is defaulting to email address instead of cell phone. How do I make the contact's cell phone the default.
iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12
If you select a contact for sending an iMessage it gives all options (All Phone numbers, email addresses) that are in the Contacts' records.
It does not fill on its own
