Siri-activated Shortcuts still do not work

Still haven't heard the definitive from Engineering but found a workaround: I needed to add a “Continue Shortcut in App” step at the beginning. That apparently forces the shortcut to run with all the same permissions as if I'd activated it from the app.

Downside is that the phone has to be unlocked in order to run this way. Not optimal for my hands-free driving use-case, but is better than nothing, I guess.

Update: Apple Support does provide OS level support, even for out of warranty devices. Support has forwarded my issue to an engineer and is scheduled to return a response by this Friday.

Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried them all in the past, plus a few more, to no avail, today I retried those listed in the last article and none resolve the issue. Siri works fine elsewhere, and appears to be working when invoking a a shortcut, confirming when the process has completed, but doesn't actually work.

I assumed no support for my out of warranty iPhone 7 so I haven't called them. If they will provide OS level support, I 'll go ahead and give it a try.

No. I ended up sending a screen recording of the problem to the tech support rep to relay to an engineer, still waiting to hear back.
