Can I delete calendar cache files?

I have been having Apple calendar issues and found this link that fixed the problem: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8270302?answerId=32982380022#32982380022

Since the discussion has been locked I couldn't reply and had to start this new discussion - but I was wondering if I can delete the calendar cache files and the plist file that the discussion told me to remove. If so, why did the discussion say to drag them to the desktop instead of just deleting them in the first place?

Yes, those files can be trashed. I recommended that step to allow the user to easily return the files to their original location if they experienced undesired results after removal.
