FORGOT APPLE ID AND INFO PUT IN DURING SET UP

My 8 year old son locked his ipod touch and I am unable to get in. I've restored it, but without the apple ID, which none of us recall, we are unable to set it up. Unfortunately, I was a newbie to the apple world when I bought this ipod for him, and did not jot down the info put in at the beginning of his ipod set up. Is all lost, or is there something we can do?

If you can’t remember that I think you’re down to getting Apple to unlock it for you. This isnt’ something they publish or announce that they do - and nothing I have personally experienced - but it’s said if you take the device and the original receipt to prove that it’s yours and not stolen they can unlock it for you. They will probably wipe it back to factory defaults, so you will lose everything on it.

This is something that can only be done at an apple store and it is up to the discretion of the person on duty.
