imessages on MacBook

From your post I understand you're able to send an iMessage on your MacBook, but it will not send an iMessage. I'm not sure what troubleshooting you've done already, so please start with the steps below:

1. Make sure your Mac is up to date: How to update the software on your Mac
2. Test this issue in a new user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

Please let us know the outcome of the steps mentioned above.
