problem with numbers on Mac - using latest Mac OS and Numbers update

I'm having trouble with Numbers on my MacBook Pro. I updated to the latest MacOS - 10.14.4 and also updated all the productivity tools: Page, Keynote, Numbers. For some odd reason Numbers will either not launch at all or when it does launch and I close it, refuse to stop showing as an active app on the dock. I've restarted and tried a full shut down but nothing works. I can try to delete the plist file but did not want to go that route unless I had to - Anyone have any input?

I removed the doc shortcuts and reset the eprom on my Mac - that seemed to clear up the problem

Hi cliffr25,

Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities. I see that you're having trouble with the Numbers app launching. I'd be happy to provide a few initial troubleshooting steps:

1. First, start up your MacBook Pro in safe mode. Here's how to use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. If Numbers launches and responds as expected, try then to start up again as you normally would. See if the issue persists.

2. If Numbers does not launch in safe mode or if the issue returns after a normal start up, then try testing Numbers in another user account: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac

I hope this helps.

Take care!

I suggest launching the application "Launch Pad", then locate each application (you can use the search bar at the top). then click and hold on the icon for Numbers (then Keynote, then Pages) until the icons shakes, click the "X" to remove the applications.

type the escape key to exit

now open the App Store and choose to install the applications again.
