Restore iPad

I seem to get to the screen that displays the iTunes icon and cable but doesn’t go into the recovery update screen What am I missing?

What lead you to this screen in the first place, like are you trying to restore the device on your own, did you see the connect to iTunes screen for some random reason?

If your iPad was disabled, you should follow these instructions.

If you forgot the passcode for your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

If you are doing that, explain what happens when you get to each step in the process.
