I can’t clear my history

The “clear history” button on my safari doesn’t work the button is grey. There is no option for private tabs. I can’t clear my history from my settings either, that button is grey too. I haven’t been able to clear any of my history so that isn’t why the buttons don’t work. Also my content restrictions are all off I don’t know what’s wrong. What do I do?

iPhone 8, iOS 12

as you can see, all of my options for clearing history are greyed out or missing. I really don’t know what’s wrong and I could clear my history through settings up until this week. I have also tried clearing my website data and that hasn’t done anything

A screenshot often say more than words. I have now used your screenshot.

Try the following to add Private Mode:

01.

Set Content and Privacy Restrictions -> On

Tap the option Content Restrictions

Next: Tap Web Content

Tap Unrestricted Access

02.

Open Safari, and then tap the tab switcher. You can now see the Private option, which means that you should have no trouble when it comes to opening Private Browsing tabs.

Perhaps then turn the iPhone completely OFF and then ON again, so that the changes are saved.
