Well there is the problem. Mac OS does not require nor does it benefit in any fashion by using any antivirus, cleaning or any other third party "maintenance" apps. If simply kept up to date (as you are attempting to do) and otherwise left alone Mac OS will remain secure and for most users trouble free for many years.
What using these types of apps actually do is to cause more problems then they solve and modify and possibly damage Mac OS.
Locate the MacAafee's uninstall instructions and please uninstall. Then restart in Safe Mode and restart normally. Then re-attempt the install and I suspect it will work just fine.

If your iMac is already on an earlier version of Mojave?
Use the 10.14.4 Mojave Combo Update > https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1996?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US
Thanks for your reply. I tried the suggestions you made, but to no avail. I am unable to install the 10.14.4 update to my Mojave OS which is labeled 10.14.3. I tried switching from my Firefox browser to my Safari browser, but the update failed again. Same message, which was the update timed out before it was installed.
I tried reloading Mojave, got the same result. My iBook is virtually brand-new, purchased from Apple in December, 2017.
I'm not sure how important the update is, but it's not loading into my computer.
Thanks. See my reply to the earlier suggestions.
Do you have any third party cleaning, antivirus or any other "maintenance" apps installed?
Yes, I believe I have MacAfee virus protection via ATT internet account. Do you suggest I uninstall it?
Thanks. It took a bit to get the program uninstalled via AT&T portal, but once removed, the update loaded.
Great, glad you got it taken care of.
