Can I make an emoji of myself on an XR?

I thought id be able to make an emoji of myself but I have looked at the instructions and I can't seem to find out how to do it?

Yes, you can do it inside the Messages app.

Launch an Animoji append swipe right, tap the '+' button and create a Memoji.
