Why am I asked to add a card if there’s already a card for payments?

For some reason Apple Pay stopped working and asks for a Credit Card although a default card is available and worked before. The suggestion to add a card doesn’t makes any sense.

It does if the current card no longer works. Check for changes in expiration date and CVV code that occur when you are issued new cards by your bank. Check if your bank still accepts the card for Apple Pay.

Hi Kappy,

Thanks a lot for your hints. Your contributions are helpful in some cases, however, in this case the Card is still same and in use.

I believe that this issue is related to a software update from Apple which ends the support of Credit Cards to send cash via Apple Pay.

Apple does a poor job to adjust program flow and did not add proper messaging to their customers. I’d like to help improving this for other customers.

Cheers,

PThi
