Bluetooth ear buds with iPad pro

Have you tried the new hard reset procedure for the new 2018 iPad Pro models.

1. Press and release the volume UP button.

2.Then immediately press and release the volume DOWN button.

3.Then, press and hold the Power button at the top. You will see the Slide to Power off button, but keep on holding down the Power button until you see the Apple logo, then let it go.

Once you have performed all the steps, wait for a few seconds and your 2018 iPad Pro will boot up completely to the iPad Pro’s Lock screen.

Then power the earbuds off and then on. Put the earbuds in discovery mode. Then go to Bluetooth in the iPad and make the iPad visible. (Enable new Connections)

if your son can use them on an iPhone, you can connect them to an iPad. Sometimes, Bluetooth pairing on many devices is a major pain. It isn’t an iPad exclusive by any stretch of the imagination. I believe MichelPM’s suggestion is probably going to solve your issue. I also can sometimes solve things by using the airplane mode for a minute and then turning it off. It is also imperative that the earbuds are looking for a connection at the same time. The AirPods pair easily because they are optimized for idevices.
