Hello tsyuen,
Welcome to Apple Support Communities! It's my understanding that you are having issues signing in to your Apple ID account using two-step verification due to the verification code disappearing too quickly. I would like to provide you more guidance on two-step verification, in hopes of resolving your concern.
If this is an issue that has just started happening recently, I would first suggest starting with Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support, to see if the behavior continues after a simple restart. Restarting helps resolve many issues, but if it does not resolve it for you, please continue below.
Two-step verification for Apple ID sends a verification code via SMS, which is a regular text message, free of charge. Learn more about that here: About two-step verification and SMS - Apple Support. If you are having an issue receiving a verification code via SMS, you will want to reach out to your wireless carrier, as SMS is a carrier-controlled feature.
If you are unable to sign in with two-step verification using your Apple ID, you can also find further guidance and steps on how to resolve this here: If you can't sign in with two-step verification using your Apple ID - Apple Support.
If you are actually seeing this verification code appear as a pop up alert on your trusted device, you may be using two-factor authentication instead. This is a newer layer of security offered for Apple ID accounts. If that is the case, you will find it more helpful to refer to this support article for help on how to retrieve the verification code using alternate methods: Two-factor authentication for Apple ID - Apple Support.
Let me know if this helps.
Cheers!
