MacBook first freezes, then restarts itself.

So, this has happened a few times already, both while browsing the internet with multiple tabs open and while using the 'Maps' app, and while playing around the screen froze and the laptop shut itself down. When I turned it on again by holding the power button, I get the message ''Your computer restarted because of a problem. Press a key or wai a few seconds to continue starting up.'' My laptop has the latest iOS updates.

Any idea why this may be happening?

Intermittent problems can be difficult to diagnose. Please determine if the same problems occur in "Safe Mode": Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac. Using a Mac in "Safe Mode" for any length of time is not comfortable, but see if you can use it in that mode long enough to determine if the problem persists, or not.

Needless to say, if you are using any non-Apple "anti-virus", "cleaning", or "Internet security" products including "banking security", anything at all in that broad category of utterly useless garbage, don't. A lot of things won't work if you do.
