iCloud Storage for Students

After a little research, I have found that students get 200GB of free iCloud storage. However on my iPad it only shows that I have 5GB of iCloud storage. I got my Apple ID from my school, is there anything I can do to get the 200GB? If not is there anything I can ask my school to do without creating new Apple IDs?

The above document says "Keep in mind this won’t work like the Apple Music student discount, where any student with a .edu is eligible. The updated 200GB plans are only for students with school provided Apple IDs." To me that sounds like you don't apply for it, your school does, if you're k-12.

I still have not yet found any official Apple documentation about this so maybe it isn't fully released yet.
