New Headphones not working well?

I have the iphone 7 and I just got wired beats to use with them, since apple removed the headphone jack, i had to wait a while and buy an adapter. So i used the headphones with the adapter, and only one side works, the side that the cord runs through. I know it’s not the headphones fault because I tried them on my iphone 5s and it works fine. What could be the problem?

Hello kordeinity,

Thanks for asking the Apple Support Communities for help with your Beats headphones with your iPhone 7. also, thanks for letting us know the headphones work properly on another iPhone, ruling out an issue with the headphones themselves. I will be happy to check this out with you.

1. First, please verify your iPhone mono and balance settings. This article talks about this: iPhone User Guide Mono audio and balance - Apple Support

2. If you still have trouble after ensuing Mono is disabled, and your balance slider is set in the middle of left and right, check the adaptor. Did you purchase this adaptor from Apple? Lightning to 3.5 mm Headphone Jack Adapter - Apple

If not, please verify the adaptor you purchased produces stereo sound, and not only mono sound. Thanks and have a wonderful day.
