What can you do with laser engraving?

I’m thinking of buying an 11 inch iPad Pro 2018 soon, and I was considering getting a laser engraving on it. I decided I would be creative and put a kaomoji on it (a kaomoji is basically a very graphical Japanese emoji that uses lots of different characters). Because I believe some characters are Unicode or whatever and I’m afraid it might might screw up what the engraver writes, I was wondering if anyone knows if I could use a kaomoji in my engraving.
