Turn notes on in iCloud and make notes in the iCloud account , if they aren’t in iCloud notes you can move or copy them in the notes app first, then they will sync to your iPad

settings- your name - icloud - notes - enable

do-this on iPad as well so it all syncs if you edit

everything will sync automatically if you enable the things you want synced

I can’t edit this part :

” I see you had this setting set up as “my iPad account” and I’m not sure what you can do here. Except to copy and paste each note into a new note in an iCloud folder”

because you’re stuck not being able to make an iCloud note folder (you will lose the notes) you can share the iPad notes using the share icon (one at a time) via text or email. No need to cut and paste. Then once you receive them on your phone you can copy to a new note in iCloud folder.

Oh I see

On the left pane of notes app you see a folder heading.

If the notes are in an iCloud folder. The sync option I outlined above will copy them all.

  • If they’re in some other folder like a yahoo, gmail etc:

Open Settingson your iPhone or iPad.

Tap Accounts & Passwords.

Tap on the Accountthat you'd like to use to sync notes (Gmail, etc.).

Turn  On Notes sync.

  • Keep in mind you'll need to sign in to the same email account on your phone and enable notes sync on that as well

  • in the iPad Settings- Notes - under Accounts- make the default account be iCloud. To make it so whenever you get a new Device they will sync easier - this will make it so when you start a new note, it goes into the iCloud folder . Copy these settings onto both (and any other IOS) devices

I see you had this setting set up as “my iPad account” and I’m not sure what you can do here. Except to copy and paste each note into a new note in an iCloud folder

There’s an easier way which transfers to iCloud Notes

  1. Select "Notes" section below "ON MY IPAD".
  2. Select "edit" (top right), select notes manually or select "Move All" (bottom left)
  3. Select "Notes" under "ICLOUD" section to copy notes.

NOTE: The app may not update the number of notes until it's closed and reopened.

Now go to your iPhone

Open settings app - go to your name (at the top) - icloud - turn notes on

  • This should send them to your phone into the iCloud notes folder

Apply these same settings to your iPad for any future notes you write on iPad (in iCloud notes folder) and want on your phone simultaneously.
