My laptop started an update this morning. While using it a little later the screen suddenly went blank. I followed the shift+control+option+power fix suggested in a different post. The screen came back with the reboot and I began workin again just to have the same problem - a suddenly blank screen.

I used the option to install the latest OS and it fixed my problem

Does it restart? or does it just shut down? My Macbook Air has been randomly restarting, I reinstalled the latest OS and i seems to have fixed that problem for far.
Thanks for asking. It does restart, or it did restart. The screen showed the Apple on restart, but was still blank. I don't know how to reinstall with a blank screen. Any suggestions?
