All Apple TV movies are missing

all our apple TV movies are missing. We cannot buy any more it ays we need to update the software. Software is updated.

What on earth is Apple doing?

Identify your Apple TV model - Apple Support

If you have an older model Apple TV, then you may be asked to update the payment information for your Apple ID, using current software. We suggest you do that updating of your account on another device (e.g. computer with iTunes, or an iOS device).

If you don’t know what needs updating, then re-enter the card information, including expiration date and CVC security code.

It's an old Apple TV. it has the software 6.2.1

we can purchase stuff using iTunes on the computer on the desk but cannot purchase using apple TV. it says the software needs to be updated. click more information and then it just goes nowhere. its weird

Some movies we purchased using apple TV and they are now missing
