unable to send emails

When I try to send, I get a message telling me that "Unable to send - was rejected by server because it does not allow relaying".

iPhone SE, iOS 12

Sounds like your outgoing mail setup (SMTP) is incorrect for your account. Do you have more than one email account on the device? See if you can send from the other one. If you can, I would delete the offending account and then add it back again, making sure that it verifies before you continue. Also, you may want to check with the email provider to ensure that you have the correct settings.
