My Macbook pro 13 inch (Aluminum 2009 A1278) won’t turn on. The battery indicator shows a blinking 1 bar light yet when I removed the battery for 2 minutes and reconnected the battery again my macbook still won’t turn on. Even the magsafe charger won’t light up. Despite all this, I even tried to reset the SMC but it was pointless because there was no more charge on the battery. Please help !

Check your power adapter and magsafe port using the tips in this article. Make sure to also try the adapter in another outlet which is known to be working.
Disconnect or remove the battery and connect the power adapter to see if the laptop will power on without the battery. You may also need to perform another SMC reset while the battery is disconnected and only the power adapter is being used. If this trick works, then while the laptop is powered on reconnect the battery and let it charge to at least 10% before powering the laptop off. Many times a depleted battery will keep a laptop from powering on and this trick will set things right.
