bird, cloudd & Code Helper processes on MacBook Pro

What are the three processes bird, cloudd & Code Helper running on my MacBook Pro Retina 15" mid-2015 with the latest Mojave 10.14.4? They seem to be taking over my CPU forcing my mac to run hot and drain the battery fast. Is there a way I can slow these processes down? My fan seems to constantly run now.

If this is some new way Apple is forcing us to use iCloud, I'm against it. Until recently, this machine has rarely run this hot.

I have reset SMC & re-installed the combo update on top of your existing macOS 10.14.4.

bird— process is part of iCloud's backup function.

cloudd—daemon used by CloudKit, a developer’s API used to transfer data between an app and Apple’s iCloud service.

Code helper— a plug-in associated with Vsual Studio(?) You can see more ps aux | grep PID (replacing PID w/associated PID from activity monitor)

I would try logging out of iCloud/iCloud Drive restart the Mac and then sign back in your iCloud.

Thanks. Last time I signed out of iCloud, everything was removed from my desktop & documents folder from my laptop. It was challenging to get everything downloaded again and up and working how I had it.

Right now bird is jumping from around 115% to 159% of my CPU. I'm unable to open any simple pdf on my desktop without the computer locking up.

Unfortunately, I'm in my 6th week of a 12wk java bootcamp and can't afford to loose any data. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

Ok — good luck and please post when you resolve the issue.
