Can’t sync my HomePod and don’t have code

I recently changed my itunes p/w and my HomePod was disconnected. Since moving I no longer have the original packing and can’t/don’t know how to manually add the device. I have read different methods online but have been unsuccessful so far. Thank you for your help. Chris

Ok.

Plug it in now to prepare for a reset

Now you need to reset it back to factory settings.

https://support.apple.com/en-ca/HT208244

  1. Unplug HomePod, wait 5 seconds, then plug it back in.
  2. Wait 5 seconds, then touch your finger to the top of HomePod and hold it there.
  3. The white spinning light will turn red. Keep your finger down.
  4. Siri will say that your HomePod is about to reset. When you hear three beeps, you can lift your finger.

IMPORTANT-  If you still see HomePod in the Home app after you reset it, then you'll need to manually remove it from the Home app.

Now proceed  with set up as explained in my first reply

HomePod has no code to use.

Just proceed with set up again and it will self install in the Home App with your iOS device placed beside it (set up screens will be in the iOS device)

Note:

  • if you’ve not used this HomePod for awhile, it’s in need of a software update to 12.2, as is your iOS device you’re using to set it up
  • Refer to the Get Started instructions above to be sure everything is set to sync.

  • After you get it all set up. Go into the home app to see if its on 12.2

Update HomePod Instructions:

No Siri?

perhaps you’re having trouble with your wifi modem? unplug that for a minute to reboot it, before the next instructions - YOU NEED WIFI TO SET IT UP!

  • Unplug HomePod and plug it back in and set up again .

follow the instructions here:

Be sure to do all the “Get Started”
