old apple Id

So I've had the Apple ID associated here for a long time, ever since they were offered to customers. Recently, I moved, and created a completely different Apple ID for a MacMini that runs my home automation system. There is nothing on this computer to point to my original AppleID... none. In the System Prefs, there are 2 email addresses associated with my new account, one a personal email, and the end, an iCloud.com email address. The personal email address is not associated in any way to my original email address. There simply is no connection.

However, whenever the AppStore wants to update apps on my MacMini, my original AppleID is listed and grayed out so I can't change it.

How can I purge my old AppleID from this computer?

You would have to delete those Apps purchase from the Mac App Store with that old ID and re-purchase them with your current AppleID. All purchased content is permanently tied to the AppleID used at the time of purchase.

I'm pretty sure no apps were bought under the old ID, but I guess that might be possible. I'm sure I set up a new ID before I started the fresh install on this Mini, so would have used my new Apple ID for everything on this computer. And the apps that are trying to update are all Apple. Pages, Garage Band, etc.. but I may go ahead and delete them and see if that helps.

Thanks

Anything and everything you download from the App Store, iTunes, iBook Store are time to the AppleID used for that store session. Doesn’t matter who the author or IP owner is, or whether the item is free or for fee. Because everything you download is tied to a limited rights license to use that owners IP product, it is licensed to an individual linked via their AppleID.
