Fast Track- M Audio Apple compatibility Issue

I am running an iMac with High Sierra 10.13.6

I installed the last available driver for my M-Audio Fast Track Ultra from the Avid site.

My iMac sees the FT Ultrack and also, I can see the levels change on the software mixer as I plug things into the inputs and play.

However, nothing gets recorded in My DAW. I am using Logic pro, and I have set it so that it uses the FT Ultra as an in and out, but nothing gets into the DAW.

I hate not being able to use this product. it was nice unit when it was supported by M-Audio but they seemed to have abandoned it after the company was sold. .

Can you restore from a Time Machine backup from when it did work?

Thats but it has never worked on my iMac. I am told that the company who sold this hardware, is no longer supporting it, deeming it a paper weight. Buyer beware.

Yes, it's a shame, but I mostly blame Apple by forcing manufactures to fully rewrite their software every few months or get left out in the cold.
