Option to create new not in Notes is greyed out

Hi all,

The option to create a new note is greyed out in Notes. I sync my notes on all my devices via iCloud. I am able to edit notes, and everything is still syncing fine across devices, but I just can't create new notes. I also don't have a folder structure anymore, and can't create new folders. When I activate another set of notes it does show up as a folder, and when I deactivate and activate my iCloud notes, it pops up in the folders then disappears. Any ideas? thanks in advance!

Deselect Notes in the iCloud System Preferences. Then add it back.

Thanks for that suggestion. Tried that and when I started up Notes again it was there for 2 seconds (the option to create a new note and the iCloud name in the sidebar), then once it started syncing both disappeared again. I also tried adding other accounts and then deselecting and reselecting notes in my accounts, but to no avail.

I'm not sure why the New Note is disabled.

For the folder structure, did you click on the Sidebar Show/Hide button (furthest left in your screenshot).

Thanks for the reply- yes, I did try that, also folders do appear if I activate notes on one of my email accounts, but the iCloud one just refuses to appear. Strange right?
