Broken iphone and upgrading to iphone4 issues?

my iphone got wet and is broken.
i'm waiting to get the new iphone4.
how do i transfer all my contacts in the broken iphone to the new one once i get it?
My wet iphone will not turn on or anything.
i have the SIM card, but i heard the new iphone4's SIM card is different.
Please advise

The iPhone doesn't store contacts on the SIM card.

Hopefully, if you've done as advised and synched your contacts with a program like Address Book (Mac), Mobile Me, Google, or Outlook, your contacts are available for you to synch back with your new phone.

If you haven't done that, well, you've learned a very hard lesson. Sorry.
