Buying single song without subscription

Apple Music requires a subscription and is difficult to buy a single song, but a kind of hidden app called iTunes store with a blue icon and a white star inside works the way the older iTunes app worked and allows you to search and buy a single song for $1.29 and it adds it to the Apple Music library so you own it. For some reason they took one app and made two apps, probably just to make people buy a subscription

iTunes is the app that one uses to purchase music. Music is the app that one uses to play music. While Apple Music is a subscription service, you cannot purchase music from there, you can only download a song to use while you are still a subscriber to Apple Music. If you wish to add a song to your library that you can keep, you need to purchase it, and iTunes is the correct app to do that with.
