iPhone XR camera zoom

I'm finding that the quality of the photos taken with any zoom on the iPhone XR are inferior to zoomed in shots taken with my iPhone 6 and 7. The XR zoomed in shots are extremely pixelated. I noticed that there is only 1 lense on the back of the phone. Is there any fix for this? Disappointed... as I use my iPhone a lot when travelling.

The Xr has only digital zoom. Digital zoom is a hoax; there is no such thing. All it does is use less of the CDS sensor, so the quality will be reduced. What you are doing using digital zoom is cropping the picture when you take it. You are far better off shooting unzoomed, then crop the image later; it gives you much finer control.
