I have no plans to upgrade news feed to apple news+ for extra monies. How can I keep these annoying stories from appearing in my everyday feed. Since I cannot access these (not going to subscribe), it is pointless in them being there...

They may appear in your Notifications, but you do not have to use the app.

This is insane!!! I should not have to look at paid feeds in my free news, horrible, My next phone will be a Pixel Just use Google news it’s a superior app anyway
Sadly there is no way to do this, I would recommend getting the google news app. It works very similarly to apple news but doesn't have paid content in the way.
