What error is: 4HDD/11/40000000: SATA(0, 0)

I ran a AHT and the error it found is: 4HDD/11/40000000: SATA(0, 0). Does anyone know what hardware this is related to?

MacBook Pro 15", macOS 10.12

That error message COULD be a False Alarm:

Mac notebooks: Apple Hardware Test may report "HDD" alert - Apple Support

If it passes other tests, and you do not have other drive issues, do not lose any sleep over it. Note that Disk Utility should be named Disk Directory Utility. It does not read or check anything outside of the Directory area of the drive.

The 4HHD implies some hard drive issue has generated an error code.

The system logs and other info may (or not) yield more clues as to what

else may be involved. Even bad 'data cable' could be partially responsible.

Maybe a genius appointment -or options- from this page could help?

That is still an easy one to do yourself - pick out your model here and take a look at the install video:

They also have hard drives; I'd recommend replacing the hard drive with an SSD. Buy the kit (with an external enclosure), install it in that temporarily, plug it in to your device and format it using Disk Utility. Then clone your entire system using CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper. When finished, test to make sure you can boot from it. If yes, boot back into the internal and swap the two drives.
