Which iPhone is better? XR or 8 plus?

I'm going to be different and say you should give serious consideration to getting the 8 Plus.

Yes, the Xr has the latest chip but the Plus still has a very good A11, the same as in my X and to be honest it still flies thanks mainly to Apple's latest chip generation being so "over powered".

The other consideration is the dual cameras which have been consistently praised, unlike that for the Xr and even the Xs which some appear to dislike.

Apart from it's cheaper you may also like the idea of staying with Touch ID as well, but looks are a little dated now.

I personally believe this is not as simple a decision as it first looks, I would go into the nearest Apple Store and try them out and see which you prefer.

I would recommend you to chose Xr, it’s a very good phone, I have also an iPhone X and despite all the media talking about its low resolution it feels completely the same to the human eye. Also it is very comfortable in hand. BUT the problem is the case, Apple makes only one type of case for iPhone XR and it isn’t so good as the phone, if you put it in your pocket all the dust is going to stuck on the sides or even between the phone and the case. It is also very hard to pull of I almost broke my nails. If you need more information about the everyday use feel free to ask.

The XR is newer than the iPhone 8. The iPhone 8 was released in 2017. Its an older entry level model.

Specs for the XR are in all ways better, and you will get software updates and security support for it for longer than an iPhone 8.
