My macbook air charger doesn't light up at all and won't charge the computer when plugged in.

When I plug in my charger for my MacBookPro, the light on the little flat piece is not lighting up to indicate there is a charge.

MacBook Pro 13", macOS 10.12

Try resetting the SMC https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

for battery management.
