Retrieve iOS Clipboard History

How do I access a previous item saved to the clipboard? Using Safari, on an iPhone 7, I filled in an online form which involved composing a very long letter. I copied it for my records, clicked ‘Submit’ and switched to Notes, but before I could paste it, I accidentally copied another sentence, which was very short. Now, the short sentence is the only thing I can retrieve with the “paste” function. Have I completely lost the long, important letter? Thanks!

Thanks for the quick response - you’re really on the ball! Re-typing won’t solve the problem, though. I need a record of the ~750 words I submitted. I won’t be able to reconstruct it, nor to ask the recipient’s automated system for it.

Windows has had this capability for decades. Can it really be that iOS doesn’t?
