Screen Shot Saving & Permissions

When taking a screen shot using command + shift + 4/5, a message pops up on the screen saying "Your screen shot can't be saved. " and screenshots are not allowed. Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Change the location to somewhere you have write permissions. This is by default your ~/Desktop

https://www.macobserver.com/tips/how-to/change-screenshot-location-terminal/

But you can move the Screenshots anywhere.

You might also go to your home folder and do a Finder -> File -> Get Info on the "Desktop" folder to see if you have write permissions, but if that is not the issue, try using the above webpage to specify a location for your Screenshots where you do have write permissions.

Again the default location is ~/Desktop
