iPad reset

My iPad is older than other models, will I have to pay to get it reset at Apple?

iPhone 5s, iOS 12

Depends on what exactly you mean.

In general you don't need Apple to reset/restart an iPad: Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

You can also restore it to factory settings on your own if you have a computer: Restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to factory settings - Apple Support

Outside of that, yes an Apple store can help you with either of these and no, they generally don't charge for it.
