com.apple.ScreenSaver.iLife-Slideshow-Extension using 40+GB space
Hi guys
I ran Omni disk sweeper to try and understand where all my macOS storage evaporates to and I found the above folder cache taking up 40GB.
I appreciate that as a cache this will probably purge itself as and when macOS needs space, but I recently couldn't install a 3rd party app because it temporarily needed 60GB to be available, so I had to move a load of my iTunes content to an external hard drive for a few hours, install and then move it back.
The file itself seems to be hidden (i can't locate it through finder) but deleting the cache manually with Omni Disk Sweeper just leads to it recreating itself within an hour or so.
If anyone is interested, this cache appears to be a transcode of all of my HEVC videos taken with iPhone which are transcoded and cached for compatibility. These are the videos that are supposed to save you space...Oh the irony!
Any ideas how to disable it completely?
Thanks
Tom
