broken sound

Well every time i turn on the imac volume it makes this very loud, but strange buzzing sound were the speakers are. I wonder how can you fix it?

Sound issues: Volume goes up and down arbitrarily So weird. Have been having this issue with my iMac for over a year now. Even when I move my mouse it goes up and down. Switched speakers and checked wires, it is still doing it. Any thoughts?

Intermittent 'no volume' on iMac Occasionally (once every 5 starts) my iMac has no volume. It requires a restart to correct this. After which the volume returns as normal. I don't have any external speakers or other hardware connected. This is an annoying waste of time but not a critical problem so I've put up with it for several months. Has anyone else experienced this and know if there's a fix?

Please reset the NVRAM per the instructions in How to reset NVRAM on your Mac

If that does not work, restart in Safe Mode and then restart normally. Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac
