Find my iPhone Alert went off unknown

Hi,

I was wondering if there is away to tell who actually enabled the Find My Phone alert on my iPhone7plus this evening. I share my location with my Family but only my wife can see my location.

Is there a way to tell where the request was originated from to sound the Find My phone alert on my iPhone?

Thanks in Advance.

If they do not have your Apple ID and password used for Find My iPhone, they cannot set the alert. Only you could do that. Just because you share your location with them, then cannot ping your phone.

Once question, when you say you share your location with your family, do you have Family Sharing enabled, or are you sharing in some other way, such as Find My Friends?

I've not used Find My iPhone via Family Sharing, however I am aware you can see other family members. I don't know if you have the ability to ping their phones. I would suggest you try that with your wife's phone, since that may be easier for you to do. This may be something more easily answered by someone that uses Family Sharing, but I cannot find any reference to you having the ability to ping other phones in the readings about Family Sharing. Test to see if you can ping your wife's phone, since she is a part of your Family Sharing group, and the two of you can sit together and test this. Then see if she can ping yours.
