iTunes for Linux
Hello there. I just want to ask, if apple is ever planning iTunes version for linux, because over Wine it simply doesn't works and over play-on-linux neither.
Thanks for responce. Kind regards,
Jake.

I have seen some comments suggesting some people are running iTunes via WINE or play-on-Linux it maybe slightly older versions of iTunes would work better. A similar but likely more effective approach would involve running Windows in VirtualBox on Linux. If you can get an older version of iTunes working then linking it via Home Sharing to a Mac or Windows machine would probably be a better idea than using Linux as the sole iTunes master system.
If your requirement is merely to play music tracks there are other apps for Linux which should be able to play the same formats as iTunes i.e. MP3, AAC and Apple Lossless. If you need the other features like playing movies, audible books, podcasts then you are probably stuck with needing the real iTunes.

We're fellow users. No one here can answer for Apple. That said market share would suggest there is no imperative for Apple to invest the effort in producing a Linux version.
