Source for HealthKit using “Body Measurements “

Hello

I am using HealthKit to track my health data. Most of it is automatically uploaded from Apple Watch and from Aria scale.

Since body Fat % from scale is very inaccurate I want to use Waist Circumference instead.

I see in HealthKit app type called “Body Measurement “

My question:

How could I enter my measurements manually or better use some app that would automatically provide it for HealthKit. E.g. like my Apple Watch app does or etc

Thanks

It is hard to measure body fat percentage. The only accurate way is with a submersion tank. But the Aria scale (and similar scales) at least provide a way to compare body fat over time. While the absolute value is not accurate, the trend is because the measurement technique is consistent. And there are more accurate scales, but they are beyond the budget of most home users. My gym has one that I can use. It shows how far off the simple scales are. It has electrodes for your heels, arches hands and thumbs. It is supposed to be almost as accurate as the submersion method.

You are right.

Once I was a guest in a very expensive gym and used their scale. They claim that costs many thousands $$$

it gave me different weight and fat % than my Fitbit Aria.

Anyway I use it just to see the trend of weight and % of fat.

Recently Aria started to give me weird body fat % hence I decided to use waist circumference instead.

It would be nice to have some app that automatically upload my measurement into HealthKit instead of manual ...

Anyway appreciate your input

Folks,

I started to use Withings scale. They have Health Mate but I still prefer to use Apple Health Kit for tracking fitness data.

Likely because I want to be consistent and use one app instead of many ...

Anyway it works fine and integration is acceptable ( more or less because user has to sync manually)

Last question: I am entering Waist circumference as you suggested by using + sign in app.

Now I want to enter another data i. e. Body Fat Calipers and Skinfold testing but I don’t know how to enter data into Health Kit.

Any advice?

Thanks
