Social Medias Icons Links not working in email signature

Hello!

I was trying to set up an email signature with social media icons.

I've opened the signatures window, selected my signature, imported the icon images in PNG format, selected the icons, and added the relevant links.

I've tested it sending an email to another account.

However, the icons don't keep the link. As soon as I close the email signature window, the signature itself is updated and I can see the icons, but the image doesn't have the link and when clicked on it the image just opens up in finder.

Moreover, when I go back into the signatures windows, and i re-select the same image, the link is not there anymore.

I've a MAcBook Pro 2017 and run MacOS Mojave 10.14.4

You're welcome. FWIW, it's not as convenient but, you can add links to an image while composing an email by selecting the image choose "Add Link…" from the Edit menu or press "Command K".

FWIW, links in a signature do not seem to be saved in Mojave.

It used to work in previous macOS versions though. Where is the point of removing this options? Most businesses has social media icons in their signatures. Looks like Apple is going backward rather than forward

I don't think that it's related though, as the the links don't work with any image.

If I try to link my website to my logo in my signature, it doesn't work.

I guess there is nothing we can do but in my opinion it makes the signatures options completely useless.

Thank you for the suggestion, I've sent them one already but I doubt it will make a difference.

I don't know if it's related but Apple removed Social Media Links from Internet Accounts for security reasons. Apple is not here, we're all just users like yourself and have no insight into Apple's decisions.
